Farm Bill

The Federal Farm bill is the most important piece of legislation that affects food and farming for everyone living in the United States. The Farm Bill governs food, farming, and nutritional safety net programs and is reauthorized every 5 years.

The 2018 Farm Bill process has begun. On April 12, the House Agricultural Committee passed H.R.2 – The Agricultural and Nutrition Act. Unfortunately, this bill is bad for food access and for family farms and local food systems.
