What is the Restaurant Meals Program?

The Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) allows homeless, disabled, and elderly individuals to use their CalFresh benefits at participating prepared food locations. Currently, CalFresh beneficiaries are not allowed to purchase hot or prepared foods. Many disabled, elderly, and homeless are therefore unable to utilize their benefits are at the most risk for hunger.

RMP has been implemented in many states as well as in 8 CA counties including: Los Angeles, San Diego, and Sacramento (just to name a few).

This is why OC Food Access is working in collaboration with partners and community members to call on Orange County Social Services Agency and the Orange County Board of Supervisors to come together and implement RMP in our county.

How can I help?

Sign our online petition and/or call your Board of Supervisors member and ask them to support the implementation of the Restaurant Meals Program in OC.
